Based on the typical clinical trial timeline, Blumenthal estimated the therapy could be ready for FDA review in about three to four years.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_33-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_34-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> If approved, the treatment could appeal to people whose LDL cholesterol is well controlled with medications yet would prefer a long-lasting alternative to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verywellhealth.com\/merck-lipfendra-cholesterol-pill-12020509\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">daily pills<\/a> or regular injections, Blumenthal said.
